When i removed the dat drive the system got frozen the next time at boot the computer started to boot and got stuck every time half way at startup. Yes now i managed to damage the scsi bus i believe, removed the tape drive without powering off the computer and now the os get stuck when booting, i can boot fine from the installer cd but the installation never finish :'( get stuck at the same point the os boot.

This XIO issues where linked to a power supply problem fixed the psu and now they diapered.

OK i know it take a little time but was able to fix this issue, one big coil inside the power supply have both pins to the board cold soldered it was completely loose re solder it and know the poweroff issues diapered.

octane dos XIO error

Hi, i have a octane the computer seems to work fine but if i stomp on the floor "its wood floor" on the octane i got a XIO error on the logs and the computer shutdown gracefully.
How can i clean the XIO connectors ? any tips on this kind of problem?.

i Think the same but seems to not by something loose in the machine i removed the psu and the xio cards and repluged them to no avail

I am looking at ebay now and octane psu are 22 usd, but the shipping cost to uruguay is going to kill me :shock: .

I will take a look at the insides and post some pictures it could be fun to reparair.

Also i will run a full check of the current at home.

The psu is autoswitching (don't have any manual switch key or button).
Wha't i can't understand is why the o2 psu and the octane psu blowed if they are autoswitching and i am in the correct range of voltage, the worked flawless for years using a downtransformer 220-110v.
