Re: Maintaining Hardware / fesability of keeping hardware running

Also, when I'm working with them in the evening hours it's not like I power up all 20 or so of them and them frantically hammer away at 20 keyboards like some mad scientist. It's usually limited to one or two systems. You just destroyed the fantasy of mad jan-jaap and his lair of ultimate com...

Re: Blue Boxes Inventory

I'm scared to turn my Indy on, it's been almost 2 years but it's been plugged into the mains all this time. Tempted to have it re-capped but not sure it's worth it. :( Poor old computer. What are we gonna do.

FF - Sun Ultra 5 complete with Box

Seeing if there is any interest in this one. I have a Sun Ultra 5 (Iii-333mhz + 1GB RAM*) KeyBoard + Mouse Original Box Manuals Odds and ends. (it started life as 270mhz but I swapped processors at one point.) The skins are a little yellowed over time. Haven't fired it up an good year or so but it a...

Re: Challenge S, 200MHZ R5000, 256MB RAM

I'm jealous! I'd love to do both the SATA and 200mhz cpu to my Indy. I'll have to boot it this summer and see how the poor thing is doing. I'd love to know more about a source for the CPU.

Re: You graphics geeks might get a kick out of this: Sun GT

I do have a Leo/ZX, I used it for several years, but the performances were not there. I remember that the ZX gets REALLY hot. "hot" is quite an understatement. Sun even sold a special fan assembly to use with the ZX in multiprocessor SS20 to prevent them from melting... If you google arou...

Auto self-test causing your reboot? I didn't google around but I can hear my apc turn over every so often but it's reboot the little Atom serve that is plugged into..

Ok I throw a quick google.

Well let's see what the wiki oracle says...

Who is "he"? He who? I'll throw in my two cents: I think the reason religion is important to most people is because they cannot tolerate the thought that the universe is a random statistical fluctuation, to which there is no point... As evidenced by how many "chosen people&...

I'll bite.... :) Although Christianity gets the conversation going I think some of the ideas that are being expressed are not limited to that. Really I see this as a question of Faith vs Reason, or more specially Blind Faith versus Rational Thought. Your "fishing dream team" example is sor...

I saw this somewhere out on the internet a while back and kept it because it was well done.... -- Here are some other items from the bible: 1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from
neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that t...

Did you try making a symlink down into the level you wanted and putting the symlink into /etc/exports? Not 100% sure it will work but it's got decent odds.
