Re: What I did over the weekend

Then maybe I'll recompile it with JIT support and see if that offers any performance boost. It's a single binary, so it's easy enough to have multiple versions.

Thanks :3

What I did over the weekend

Over the weekend, this happened :D https://i.imgur.com/OStWayo.jpg I could only get Basilisk to compile with GCC though and you can kinda tell. It's very usable, but not skippy. I don't know if its from running it on an 180mhz O2 or if it's because I don't have JIT compiled in. It's still pretty sli...

Re: What kind of camera

Hmm...I need to do some research then. There are a lot of options, and all of them are very good.

Re: What kind of camera

My primary O2 has a video input card. Thanks. This leads me in the direction I need to look.

Re: What kind of camera

I'm a pretty big newb with video, but I think it would be a good use of my SGIs and a hobby on top of a hobby. Can you lead me in the direction of a DV camera?

What kind of camera

So I have all this yummy SGI goodness chock full of blockbuster-making software, and want to know... What camera should I get to make my first retro vaporwave YouTube hit? I have an iPhone, but it only outputs to MP4, and AFAIK there is no IRIX software that reads that format. HD would be nice (it's...

Re: NIS Password format

Hmm....I've already engineered NIS infrastructure, and I plan on adding older IRIX machines and maybe some Sparcstations later on. So I think how I have it is future proof (for retro machines, how ironic) and still plays with my modern FreeBSD/Linux/MacOS stuff. Right now I'm trying to figure out wh...

Re: NIS Password format

Yeah. I'm not totally thrilled with having DES hashes, but it's just in the inside of the network. Does IRIX support LDAP authentication?

Re: NIS Password format

I just decided to change the password format to DES on the FreeBSD boxes. Easier, but still a pain in the ass.

NIS Password format

I have an NIS server running on FreeBSD, and my IRIX machines bind to it just fine. I can ypcat and see my password map, but when I try and login, it doesn't work. I can successfully login to any of my other FreeBSD machines, just not my IRIX ones. I also checked the order of the nsswitch.con file, ...

Re: How do I fix this?! >:(

I wonder if you can run luit in reverse. SDF and #! all have en_US.UTF8 set as their default locale.

Re: How do I fix this?! >:(

I wonder what would be involved to port it. I don't know much about locales.
