Re: Things to buy....

Even with their flaws I still want a SGI Fuel...

Re: your latest purchase

I've got two old pairs of Gateway 2000-branded Altec Lansing speakers and they certainly pleasantly surprised me with their output, so having a Roland device like this must be even beyond that.

"The sharks" in this context have entered the vernacular in my family thanks to this comic.

That reminds me of how despite a lot of time and a fair bit of money I NEVER got my Power Macintosh 9600 to work.

A/UX should run a treat on it if i recall correctly.

I plan on running A/UX after I upgrade the RAM a bit. 8MB isn't an awful lot, 16 or 32MB will be much better.

Re: your latest purchase

The IIfx is quite impressive indeed, the amount of engineering that went into making it as fast as a 68k based computer in 1990 could possibly be is astounding!

Very cool! Please document your adventures with it somewhere. =)

I will once I get it. Trying to upgrade the RAM is gonna be "fun" though, thanks to proprietary SIMMs...

I have one that's working but doesn't save PRAM settings for whatever reason. I've got a charger and two extra batteries for it.
