Re: Found! WTB 1600sw adapter for Sgi 320 and/or Fuel

Like the title says, I'd like to use my 1600Sw with my 320 and my Fuel. If you have either one, please drop me a note. Thanks to UUNIX! For my second Sgi unboxing of today 8-) I got my package from Uunix with not one but two Sgi Multilink adapters! :D I am very happy to confirm that they both work ...

Re: Fuel fixer uppper

The company said it wasnt an easy job to replace them, cost were 70 eur plus vat plus shipping back to me in my box in a very pink antistatic bag. So not cheap, but the board looks very clean plus it has a nice green sticker now :) And a Fuel has been saved so far. I recommend the company Jan-Jaap, ...

Re: Fuel fixer uppper

“Lazarus” lives! Yesterday I picked up my board from the post, spent today putting it all back together. Started it up, machine shut itself down...mhhhh. Quick forum search, ahhhh stupid, forgot to connect rear fan. Try again...strangely no L1 connection, but via rear serial 1 yes... and...Prom scre...

Re: Dubious Tezro on ebay (certainly not mine!)

Hi Nekochaners, Not sure which is harder... 1. Getting spouse approval or 2. Getting 30 Kg Tezro shipped to Oz without damage. ;) Shipping was nearly AUD $500 , so should be fast service and so minimize likelihood of damage. As an aside I ordered couple of ACARD scsi/sata adaptors to allow me to pu...

Re: Mac Pro 2013

I used one of those touch-strip thingies on a thinkpad x1 and not only did it put me off thinkpads for life, it's put me off even considering a new mbp. Which is a shame, I have a tb3 egpu I use on pc and would like to play with on mac. Perhaps with enough dongles and cables I can connect it to my ...

Re: Mac Pro 2013

This was the very first Mac that I bought new and in my honest opinion, it's been an absolute pleasure to use! Just so that there's no misunderstanding, I cannot speak for people in the industry, but for home use , it's been fantastic for a number of reasons: 1) It's small form factor. 2) It's dead...

It is starting to look more appealing already. Indeed, find out more info and then make them a lower offer if ok.

Re: Fuel fixer uppper

I do have it in my backlog to create a map of DS1780 chips to the signals they monitor (voltages AND fans), haven't had time for that yet - it will eventually happen :) From what I could find online, the problem with the bad ds1780 chips is mainly with the earlier Fuel models, so I suppose the 500 ...

Re: How frequently you use your SGI (in 2017)?

Oh of course cables hidden. I am in the process of designing it as a single card. It would look like a modern graphics card, covered by a shroud (maybe I could put the SGI cube on it!). The main wires are as follows: GA620T Ethernet <-> ODROID-XU4S Ethernet GA620T 5V Power Pins --> ODROID-XU4S 5V P...
