Re: Lazy Game Reviews Featured An Indigo2

Why is the logo upside down? I knew someone would notice it! Two faces on the bottom, one on the top. Hi Dodoid, You're the person I met on youtube right? (who let's his mother test OS'es on youtube right?) I've seen you around here and on youtube (in the LGR indigo2 review comment section), and al...

SGI Indigo2 MaxImpact video review by LGR on youtube

Hello SGI lovers ;) A friend of mine who has a very well known youtube show called LGR (Lazy Game Reviews) has done a short but very good review of a fully upgraded Indigo2 R10K/MaxImpact system for everyone to enjoy... ;) Although for those "in the know" it's not %100 accurate, fairly &qu...

Re: Indigo2 MaxImpact Quake 2 gfx glitches & performance

Could be a faulty TRAM module? They are quite fragile and run extremely hot, which leads to them burning up eventually. Can you test with some of the 3D demos to see if the problem is present outside of Quake? Hi, thanks for replying ;) Could indeed be, I have asked him to make sure they are seated...

Indigo2 MaxImpact Quake gfx glitches & performance

Hi fellow SGI lovers ;) A friend of mine is trying to get quake running properly on an Indigo2 195MHz R10K / 1GB / MaxImpact with TRAM option. He's going to do a review on a youtube channel of the system... If you have a look at the video in this tweet: https://twitter.com/lazygamereviews/status/782...

Linux or FreeBSD for nfs server for irix clients and tips?

Hi all ;), I am considering setting up an NFS and Samba server box in my office, and since i have 2 irix 6.5.22 machines besides several linux/mac os X/windows machines, I am curious about the compatibility of NFS of modern linux/freebsd machines and irix. I assume I have to have the server be able ...

64bit libGL etc... missing ?

Hi all, I'm compiling some code with OpenGL, and can compile 32bit binaries fine with both mipspro and nekoware gcc. I'm running IRIX 6.5.22 on an R5K Indy. However, when trying to link a N64 version, my llinker complains it cannot find libGL, libglut, etc... I've searched my whole system and all li...

Re: Indy R5K - 24bit XL gfx - dithered opengl gfx?

BTW, using an Indy XZ board, instead of an 24bit XL board, with 3d acceleration, would there be enough framebuffer memory for doublebuffered 24bpp graphics (eg that should solve my problem...) ?
I'm not aware of how much VRAM is on a XZ board set...

Thanks,
Terrence

Re: Indy R5K - 24bit XL gfx - dithered opengl gfx?

spiroyster, thanks for your lengthy reply, but it seems like everything is doublebuffered. say i start a vanilla blender 2.4x , same issue, dithered opengl graphics, and ALL of blender's user interface is double buffered, so it's also heavily dithered. I could post some screenshots tomorrow if you w...

Nedit with tabs ?

Hi, found this older thread: http://forums.nekochan.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3119&start=15 It talks about Nedit 5.5RC1 for irix which should support tabs... (like a modern browser) Unfortunately the links to the binary in that forum post are dead... Does anyone know where I can fetch some src...
