Re: What extremely rare (non-prototype) computers do you wish you could find?

Hmmmm... let's see: ⋅ PC Server 720 populated with six Pentium 1s multi-threaded in its Corollary bus all upgraded to 233 Mhz with interposers--along with the PCI and MCA bus option. Running PCI and MCA cards has a lot of unique advantages. But... 1.4 Ghz (total) of Pentium 1 would be a w...

Re: What HP/DEC/Compaq do we have.

The kingston sticks aren't given any part numbers but are 256mb each and require a dual set, but I'm not sure how the stacking works. I finally found some pictures for stacked and unstacked variants: If you look closely onto the 20-00ESA-08 DIMM (from item #262899467320 ) you can see that for each ...

Re: What HP/DEC/Compaq do we have.

My TS10 .. I grabbed sticks out of a spare DS20E. "Just worked" Would be interesting to check if the 512 MiB DIMMs for the *S10* systems also work in the DS20E. Because even the latest AlphaServer DS20E Quick Specs I could find lists it with a maximum of 4 GiB of memory (with 16 x 256 MiB...

Re: What HP/DEC/Compaq do we have.

The 20-00DSA-08 sticks are the full 512MB each, the system now has 1024MB ram. If anyone needs to pick up a set of 512MB for a DS10 compatible alphaserver, shoot me a PM and we can work something out, since I now have a matched pair and a third 256MB stick that I don't need. Just to be sure: Did yo...

Re: What HP/DEC/Compaq do we have.

[...] There's also a parts list at IslandComputers for AlphaServer ES40s and there it lists both 20-00ESA-08 and 20-01ESA-08 as stacked or mono 512 MiB DIMMs respectively. As it later also lists "Memory Options" (with 1 GiB and 2 GiB capacity, i.e. more than any singular DIMM available fo...

Re: [ebay][uk] DEC AlphaPC 164SX

Ok, the set arrived today, and it runs perfectly! 512MB SD RAM, a new CR2032, a NVRAM reset, and it installs Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Server Edition. By the way, the installed Alpha is 533MHz, in case anybody is wondering. Congratulations! Great that it still works well. Is this your first Alpha &qu...

Re: What HP/DEC/Compaq do we have.

Can anyone confirm that 20-00ESA-08 or 20-01ESA-08 are 512MB modules or were Compaq/HP in the habit of labeling sets for the full amount of the sets rather than the individual sticks? I cannot confirm and I currently also cannot have a look in my DS20E (which has 16 x 256 MiB stacked DIMMs for refe...

Re: My first 320

According to this table: http://www.frontlinemedia.de/sgi320/vrm.html That the 20770 works is an expected outcome :) I remember this table, but the page is not very explicit in stating that the VRM types listed in the table are working or were tested in a VW 320. But maybe I misunderstand/stood it ...

Re: [Not Mine][eBay] IBM ThinkPad Power Series

What do you folks think? PPC-603? 604? Completely useless machine! Less useful than a brick to stop the door. But nevertheless these are extraordinary machines. I assume a museum like the HNF in Paderborn might have a place for such a machine. :) Still, damn expensive for their unclear operational ...

Re: Fuel CPU Disabled

I don't think the fuel did worked before the graphics card swap, as apparently they cannot run without a graphics card and I did not have one. Is that a fact (e.g. from SGI documentation)? Why should a Fuel not run without a graphics card? It is not documented, but experimentally verified: http://f...

Re: Car Talk

Why? It looks like great shape, and that green is totally 90's :) I once had a red Mazda Lantis - not sure if this type was ever sold in the US - and since then I like red on cars very much. After cleaning and polishing the paint it always looked like new (and I had it for nearly 10 years, the car ...

Re: My first 320

Say, could you have a look on the used VRM to check who manufactured it and what P/N it has? The VRM in my machine is a: Celestica 073-20770-01 if this helps. So a 073-20770-01 actually also works for the Visual Workstation 320 with dual CPUs installed. That's good to know. I remember that FlasBurn...

For your (and mine) entertainment. Noisy scsci harddisk and fan, but otherwise nice spec. Now to find a1600sw adapter for the box... The CPUs look like Pentium II or Pentium III in SECC2 cartridges. Ah, I see, dual Pentium III 550 MHz , so Katmais (Model 7 and 512 KiB Cache). Say, could you have a ...

Re: Alphastation 500 strange issue

I have a question: with another graphics board, for example the Powerstorm 4D60T, I can connect one monitor to vga connector and view all (VGA + 3D) or the two video out on the board are separate? (one for vga, and one for accelerated video) According to the PowerStorm 4D40T/4D50T/4D51T/4D60T Graph...
