Re: Giant collection of SGI Hardware Dumpster bound

Why are you taking this out on everybody here? I don't even know who "siliconasshole" is. I could come up and grab some things... I live in Chicago.

Also, I'm sorry that happened to you. I've noticed the trolls on this site in particular are pretty nasty.

My NeXTStation Turbo Color

Scored this for $50 and it has a working HD (with a Nextstep 3.2 installation) and 16MB RAM... right now I'm installing Nextstep 3.3 to a SCSI2SD.

Another fantastic eBay score ($130 US), *nearly* intact skins - I think the one crack that's appearing on the side is my own fault, but it's just starting to form and it's invisible without close inspection. Powered up fine, installed IRIX through the LAN with no problems: hinv -v CPU: MIPS R12000 P...

Nice job showing it next to the Indigo2, I've wondered how big these were and this helps. Guess now I'm on the lookout for one of my own :)

Re: SCSI2SD+microSD bundles in stock and ready to ship from USA

Zuc, are you going to use the V6 with Powerbooks or SGI's? I'm just curious at IRIX 'diskperf' values if you're planning on putting one inside an SGI workstation. I'll use the V6 with SGI's ... I already have a V5 running in an Indy, so I'll first just try moving that SD card into the V6. I'll do d...

There's one of the v6 left:

I ordered one, these should be much faster than the v5 and they support synchronous transfers.

It's like that spray-in insulation foam inside of a bag so it takes the shape of any cavities inside the box and then becomes rigid foam.

Re: how things should be shipped properly

I had an Octane shipped in some kind of instapack type material and it arrived in perfect condition. I believe it was the eBay seller "TryC2" ... I've had other machines shipped by them and always the same - they are packed quite well and arrive in perfect condition. Sometimes RAM comes lo...

Indy, R4600, 133MHz, 160MB

Found this on eBay last week cheap enough for me. It arrived with nearly intact skins - although the rear right tab is broken off, it still fits together tightly and looks fantastic. The drive bracket and the CPU module were "rattling around" inside the case when it arrived. I battened eve...

Re: [eBay] Tezro FS

I ended up having to return them through eBay. There were just too many issues and neither one was reliable. I dismantled them, cleaned them, inspected them, and tested each component. Seems that the logic board with the RAM on it was defective in one. One had a fan port broken clean off. The ram s...

Re: your latest purchase

Yeah, it's weird. The CG6 works fine with any LCD I connect, but the built-in video of the SS20 and the SS4 both shift either to the right or downward depending on which resolution setting I choose. They never sync up properly. Powering the monitor off and back on doesn't help. Pressing the "au...
