Re: I've Had It With Firefox - Alternatives I'm Exploring

Mr. Fox, I don't think supporting a raid on an organization or business simply because their views are opposed to yours is really the right way to go. You definitely don't have to agree with them or support their existence, and you're not alone if you don't, but that is not justification for a polic...

Re: I've Had It With Firefox - Alternatives I'm Exploring

I've never understood the appeal of RiseUp. I have one or two friends who use it, and I guess I can see why from a privacy point of view, but if you want privacy in your emails, end to end encryption with something like ProtonMail (my personal favorite) or even just regular GPG on standard emails is...

Re: Dodoid Mini Indigo is now on sale!

I do not plan to at this time. As of the cancellation of preinstalled Raspberry Pis in Mini Indigos, Raspberry Pi support in miniature SGI products has been discontinued, and physical compatibility and mounting hardware for the Raspberry Pi in future devices will likely not be available. This is due...

Re: Gallery gone?

Perhaps we should get an archived copy to torrent then? Very little bandwidth usage for Neko but allows archival. I did make semi-frequent use of it for my channel though, and would have submitted some hi-res shots of my machines if it was still open for new images.

Re: Best workstation to start with?

The only SGIs I've ever gotten in that price range were my non-working Fuel (which was really incomplete and still doesn't even boot to PROM because SN1 is SN1) and an Indigo2. With the Fuel, I've had to spend well over the price of the original machine on parts and it still doesn't work, and I got ...

Re: SGI website using way back machine.

This was a MAJOR source for my History of SiliconGraphics series. Essentially no third party sources keep dates for SGI events, so their website's own press release archive inside the Wayback Machine allowed me to find dates for things that happened in quick succession. Think about a year like 1993....

SGI did a desktop O2, and a deskside Onyx. They also did that one-off O2 laptop. Where's my Onyx lapside?

Re: your latest purchase

What I am suggesting is that the clean image from Microsoft or Apple already contains a decent amount of privacy-invasive online data collection software.
