Re: SGI History Part 3 is here! This episode covers from 1993 to 1996.

I suppose that I can install the motherboard and CPU my current Indigo2 then. Yes and that's pretty much it. The Power Supply is relatively interchangeable between R4K systems and R8K, see http://www.oocities.org/siliconvalley/hills/3730/indigo2_powersupply.html The rest can be swapped over from th...

Except that it is not actually a chip but a processor board with two MIPS CPU's, cache and glue logic. That's an interesting card, very different to the other CPU options available for the said machines. I'm already in the process of trying to acquire one! If I manage get it, I will install it in a...

The R8000 seems to be an interesting chip! I would seriously like to have a system with one installed someday.

Re: Tezro for sale in the Netherlands (Not mine)

Nice one! It's great to see that you went for it! Did you manage to get them to lower their asking price? I know its an assumption, but if a system has that arrangement of option cards installed with a DCD option, it more than likely has a V12 installed as well, and its good to see that that was the...

Re: Tezro wanted

Confirm that the Alloy wheels were sent to you by the same seller They were not, and that's the problem with eBay GS. Essentially, a seller ships his gear to an eBay GS warehouse, they re-label it and pass it on. Except (obviously) their re-labeling is not flawless. Hopefully that kind of mistake d...

Re: Tezro wanted

I have literally had about 20 items shipped to me I still have a set of 19" alloy wheels that were sent to me when all I was expecting was a 13w3 sync converter :) Unfortunately (1) there's not much I can do with 2 alloys and (2) I have no car that fits them so for the time being they just sit...

That sounds awesome!

Those Onyx2 racks are awesome looking pieces of equipment!

I will also be interested to now exactly how those systems work with their dual DG's? (how are they configured?)

Re: Tezro wanted

That was a rather terrible experience for the members involved, I sincerely hope it never happens to me. Its terrible to get caught up in bureaucracy, as there is usually no easy way out! I suppose that when the system works, all is well, but if a problem occurs then it's hell to sort out due to all...
