Re: O2 CD drive - where does the little white gear go?

Thanks for the help... unfortunately it's too locked up to come out easily.

Since I don't have time to fix, I'm happy to donate this unit with all parts to anyone here free, only ask for you to cover the cost of shipping. PM me if interested.

Re: O2 CD drive - where does the little white gear go?

Just found this thread. I'm having the exact same issue, a thrown COG (luckily it's still intact). Does anyone know how to remove the off white CD tray from the black assembly piece? My tray is stuck about 1" open, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to remove it so that I can get to ...

Re: Mac is 30 years old

Ah, this thread brings back such fond memories. It's why I collect classic Macs to this day. My first experience with Macs was in college, an SE model to do reports on (dot matrix printer), Mac Paint, and a few games. After I graduated with an Architecture BS degree, my first real work experience wa...

Re: Maya upgrade question

Ok, forgive me as I'm not sure I'm interpreting your answer correctly. My understanding is that if you already have a valid serial number and hardware ID, you simply go to this website to get the activation code key: http://www.alias.com/cgi-bin/activation/activate.cgi Once you get the activation co...

Re: Maya upgrade question

Ok, thanks. And forgive for the newb questions, I'm somewhat familiar with Unix/Linux but still getting up to speed on Irix systems. I've also never dealt with A/W software before. I'm not sure if my next question is an allowed topic, but here goes anyway. If I acquire a brand new version of Maya 6 ...

Maya upgrade question

Is it possible to upgrade from Maya 4 directly to Maya 6 on Irix 6.5? If so, do you need a new license?

Re: Why do you collect SGI kit?

For me, it's some nostalgia and wanting to own once expensive machines that were involved in the creative CGI process of some fantastic Hollywood movies. I've had an Octane for about 6 years, but just acquired a (new to me) O2 as well. The Octane is also getting some upgrades. I intend on putting mo...

PowerAnimator v8.5 question

Does anyone know if PA v8.5 will run on VPro graphics? Read on some obscure website that only MGRAS was supported, but just wanted to be sure.
