Re: your latest purchase

Got one of the hard to find 1GHz G4 upgrades for the beige PCI Power Macs. Though the bus holds these systems back, the L3 cache doubles to 2MB, so that should help quite a bit. My 7300 has the 800MHz/1MB version of this card and this ought to be a very welcome upgrade, since it is primarily a clas...

Re: your latest purchase

Bought another Vita fat because these systems are cheap and by the gods they are fun little systems to do mods to.

My 3 JDM dreamcasts are on the way. On the lookout for a PC-98 keyboard if anyone has one or anything like that.

Like what a certain user who used to be on here told me the other day.

Re: I've Had It With Firefox - Alternatives I'm Exploring

But part of what makes this country what it is that sympathizing with bad people isn't a crime. All of us have the right to be wrong, and the minute the government starts subverting that because some people make some other people uncomfortable, we're one step closer to fascism. That would be no dif...

Re: I've Had It With Firefox - Alternatives I'm Exploring

Mr. Fox, I don't think supporting a raid on an organization or business simply because their views are opposed to yours is really the right way to go. You definitely don't have to agree with them or support their existence, and you're not alone if you don't, but that is not justification for a poli...

Re: I've Had It With Firefox - Alternatives I'm Exploring

Ain't nothin' illegal about having views, man. If there's evidence they're complicit in wrongdoing, then let the cops do what they do, but until then it's a free country and a free Internet. Just because I said that I'd have no issue if they up.and disappeared doesn't mean I am against opposing vie...

Re: I've Had It With Firefox - Alternatives I'm Exploring

I dont use Tails and I don't recommend anyone with the technical literacy to not build their own liveUSB use it, as you are inherently trusting yourself to what could very well be an NSA plant. RiseUp should be raided. Any organization proudly bearing a Marxist, Socialist or Leftwing anarchist symbo...

Re: I've Had It With Firefox - Alternatives I'm Exploring

I don't really have a problem with them as an organization (they're entitled to have their own views), nor do I really have a problem with Mozilla funding them (Mozilla is also entitled to have their own views). RiseUp is also not really responsible for the actions of their users. Though their site...

Re: I've Had It With Firefox - Alternatives I'm Exploring

One reason I like WebKit is that it does away with the dangerously unsafe npapi still used by Firefox for flash. I really don't use flash often anymore but occasionally I find it useful, and for that WebKit/Blink have Pepper API which is much safer. Vivaldi is impressing me though, I may end up stic...

I've Had It With Firefox - Alternatives I'm Exploring

After it came out that Firefox donated money to an anarchist email service called RiseUp (which I have a serious problem with as people they're hosting have attacked my friends) I decided I would need to find an alternative primary browser. I started with Brave, which is made by ex-Mozilla employee ...

I KNOW HOW TO USE CAPS LOCK TOO. FOR MANY YEARS I ONLY USED CAPSLOCK AS I DIDN'T LIKE SHIFT. I WOULD TAP CAPSLOCK ON AND OFF TO CAPITALIZE THE DAMN LETTERS. I KNOW PEOPLE WHO STILL DO THIS INCLUDING FORTRAN PROGRAMMERS.

Re: your latest purchase

Unfortunately the limitations are too much to overcome with the w520, no amount of upgrading can fix. The ssd slot is msata limited to 300mb speed, there is no thunderbolt expansion of any kind, it weighs way too much, the battery barely lasts an hour going downhill with a strong tailwind and a new...
