Re: EBAY US - What's this? Infinite Performance

The compositor for sale on Ebay is the original device released in 2002. A year later in 2003 SGI released a revised version (rev b) which features support for a multi-compositor setup which does not exist on the first compositor. https://techpubs.jurassic.nl/library/manuals/4000/007-4602-001/pdf/00...

Not quite. Jan-jaap wrote: With Nnnnnnnn serials being O3xx and Pnnnnnnn Tezro, Rnnnnnnn is probably some sort of Altix. I assume you mean Jensens Bøfhus which is indeed a danish restaurant chain.
Be aware not to order one of their lethal dishes (a man died because of a piece of meat that got stuck in his throat).

Re: HP(e) buys SGI for US$275MM

Interesting...in this article from 28th of june 2016 the author states that he would not be surprised if HPE would purchase SGI . http://www.nextplatform.com/2016/06/28/cisco-connects-sgi-big-numa-iron/ And now, roughly 6 weeks later, it really happened. Oh well, at least it was not Larry and Mark w...

Re: Tezro sold for under $600

So what exactly can one do with an octane2 with 4 displays other than bragrights?

I suppose this was considered a 2-seat solution where every user has 2 displays. This machines has already the pcicage, so the only
part missing is an io3-card.

Re: Tezro sold for under $600

I asked the seller about the type of mainboard (4 or 8 pci-x) and the type of cpu-module (1,2 or 4 cpu), but never got an answer.
He advertised the Tezro as quad system, but I'm not so sure about that since the machine did not have one single pci-x card except
the io9 which is required.

Re: hamei 's departure

What a bad idea to leave now...since Dex is back, I see that the Dev-corner got more support and new optimism to manage and port later versions of open source software and Hamei has often been a contributor of software suggestions worth being ported to Irix. Now if finally the "porting FAQ"...

Right,

I just took a fast photo from the backside of the O350 with my mobile phone, looking in the IP35 hardware aggregator I cannot
see any 10 GE card in the list.

Origin 350, 4 x 1 Ghz, 4 GB RAM

Hi, just picked up this Origin 350 that once ran at SGI. It is in great condition and, surprise, even comes with a 10 Gigabit Ethernet adapter. It is the 3rd rackserver from top of the stack.
