Re: ADAT. And the secret is...

You are sure that calibrating the setup from the Discreet software using the "ADAT SYNC IN"-RS-232 port won't work with this generic version of the Lucid ADA8824 and one is forced to use either the DIP-switches or the outdated Win/Mac utility ? The back of the generic ADA8824 looks like th...

Re: Octane2 chassis won't work with other mainboards

I have made exactly the same experience with the MENET card in my Octane2.
I will install it in my Octane and see if all serial- and ethernet ports are available.

Re: Computer with a real serial port

Another alternative is a cheap and boring Dell Optiplex 980 (2010-ish).
Those were built even with a core i7 and have a parallel port, a serial port and ps/2 ports besides 4 usb-ports.
They do not occupy a lot of space and are pretty silent machines as well.

Re: GCC-4.8.0 porting.

I really wonder what happened to this interesting project - the announcement was made more than 2 years ago.
From v4.80 it is (possibly) a very small step to v4.81 which would bring support for all major features of C++11.

Re: Rack Tezro/ Onyx4 V12 and UV/ IR4 Test.

Hi John, Test 5) Origin350 expansion chassis with a V10 installed with no IP module. This setup didn't work because the chassis thinks it is an expansion chassis missing fan #1 (removed to get the V10 in). I Know that there were cpuless IP modules that may allow this to work, but I don't have one to...

You probably need to change the setup in the "Virtual Network Editor" which came with the VMware Workstation package.

L2 Emulator ? The L2-controller was a ppc-based hardware-appliance running Linux. I assume you mean the L3-controller (System-controller) which was connected to all of the L2-controllers in the racks and ran on Red Hat Linux on a SGI 230. 3 weeks ago I installed Red Hat Linux 9 (2003) and the L3-con...

Well that's quite a lot of SUN gear from the time before Larry came, very nice.
Your W114 in the garage seems to be in great shape, I once had a W115 20 years ago, though my personal favorite is the W111 Coupe.
