Re: your latest purchase

A RadioSHARK 2 with the better radio receiver chip (I hope). Then the G4 will do simulcasting of the radio on the in-house FM transmitter so that we can use the radios as, you know, radios when they're not playing audio playlists.

Re: your latest purchase

Oooh. Find one of the Sonnet upgrades for that thing. Who did the Verax fans? I need to get around to replacing the fans in my own MDD.

His'n'hers Internet. Finally got Spectrum, who bought Time Worthless Cable, to pull RG-59 to the house, and now we have cable Internet. However, the servers are better served (ha!) by staying on the T1, and I'll just leave my computer lab on that same network, so it's effectively his (T1) and hers (...

I have a PrecisionBook (PA-RISC), which is nearly as hard to find. It's basically a SPARCbook with HP innards; I believe ...

Grabbed it, but not at home yet, so haven't gotten a chance to try. Since I'm visiting my folks and I'm annoyed with them, I'll seed it at maximum for the next hour or so. :P

Heat is the enemy of any system. My Quad G5 runs throttled for this reason.
