Re: How to measure time?

Here is hackermans tutorial on how to 'hack time'. Easier than measuring it

Hope this helps.

Re: Inventory/Catalog

The purpose of my inventory is not to know where things are. This should be obvious Not so obvious if you travel a lot and you have parts hosted in different offices and warehouses! For me, "where is it"? Is important, as well as the person I have to contact if I need parts shipped. So wh...

Re: EBAY US - What's this? Infinite Performance

@spiroyster Thank you for all the insight you have given on this topic - but in all honestly the technical details about graphics and what this compositor is capable of are slightly above my head, but I hope someone else was able to take it all in. **BUT** let me not give up so easily. Let me ask i...

Re: EBAY US - What's this? Infinite Performance

One needs a Onyx4 with ATI's graphics to use this? Not VPro or earlier Onyxs (I don't see any DVI output on the IR4 pics listed in the other thread)? I'm not aware of any Autodesk software working on the Onyx4/ATI platform... I was under the impression nothing really works on the Onyx4... Apologies...

Re: Too many beers? IBM PS/2 Model 70 MCA

386 required FPU co-processor (387 is one such example), 486 was a renascence in the realisation that this should have a been a God-given right.

Indeed they are cool... you can run them without heatsinks! [EDIT:] Actually I think you need a heatsink, but you definately don't need a fan.

Re: EBAY US - What's this? Infinite Performance

lets pretend someone bought this thing - what can one currently run/do with this thing? Any software that already exists or would someone have to code their own stuff to use this? I'm still confused... Both, manual says there is a utility that allows you to customise the output of all the graphics ...

Re: How to measure time?

I've had 3 Vostok Amphibia (automatic 2416 movement) over the past 10 years, those things are built to withstand a nuclear winter! Straps were crap and the QC for one of them left the watch failing to perform its intended function, the other two have both lasted for 8 years so far...in fact I coult ...

Does it have an FPU? An MCA IrisVision which would make the perfect companion for that machine. :)

Re: Why can't we sell/trade original commercial software?

Autodesk have moved to perpetual licensing for 2 years now  . I don't think you can even get anything from them on 'hard media' anymore.

Amnesty on 'hard media' license violations FTW! </perfectWorld>

Re: EBAY US - What's this? Infinite Performance

There's an IBM monitor that can do it, forget the name but Hamek uses one. I misunderstood the purpose of the compositor, my bad. The bottleneck is the single-link DVI (max is 1920x1200)? From the SGI™ InfinitePerformance™: Scalable Graphics Compositor User’s Guide Cool! It can! Pixel Average : Thi...

Re: EBAY US - What's this? Infinite Performance

So yes this conbines 2-4 VPro inputs and makes a 2-4kimage out of it. Nope, the output is a single link DVI so still limited to 1920x1200 IIRC it interleaves the pipes so you can get 4x the frame rate. Or maintain framerate with a more complex scene. Can it AA the final output, rather than splittin...

Found some old Matrox manuals on bitsavers.. including QG-640.

Clicking on the 'Parent Directory' link is quite fun too. :)
