Re: [Review] ELECTROGIG 3DGO

Welcome Alex! As a lover of all things casted along along ray paths, especially before the GI boom... I absolutely love the style and character these renders give. It takes me straight back to the early 90's raytracers (which got me interested in computer graphics), a niche area of research that onc...

Re: your latest purchase

A Sega Saturn! I'm hoping I can mod it for JP games and homebrew and stuff. I'm not aware of any homebrew on the Saturn? Dreamcast yes, but not Saturn. Ths CD has only recently been cracked... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOyfZex7B3E. For region free-ness, you certainly need a mod chip, it would...

Re: Trying to get Acorn A5000 Keyboard working in macOS

Shame, that keyboard has one of the nicest tactile feedbacks I have ever used.

The BBC Micro B keyboard too was a solid performer for heavy typing. Modding one of those would be a project :D I wonder if that is even possible without discarding everything else bar the casing and keys.

...the issued "user warning" against him... If this was me? I apologise, For the record, I did not say that to get him banned. It was a tongue and cheek warning suggesting some linux advocates (ironically you came to mind at the time) might find it offensive and start flaming. He has been...

Re: Inventory/Catalog

As you say, using a filesystem as a grouping mechanism allows you to structure you data in a tree like hierarchy. However, this means you need to know your data model in advance, and has it's own inherent problems, such as forcing a more relational like tree hierarchy/structure. Fine, until you req...

Cool this sounds a lot more exotic than the usual society destroying compounds I pick up from the local projects o.0

Re: Inventory/Catalog

What you have just described here is pretty much a graph database. sorry, I don't know graph databases, never used, never studied, I don't know their properties. One which focuses on the relationships between entities, rather than just the data itself. Dynamic data model! I don't get your point. &q...

Here is hackermans tutorial on how to 'hack time'. Easier than measuring it

Hope this helps.

Re: Inventory/Catalog

The purpose of my inventory is not to know where things are. This should be obvious Not so obvious if you travel a lot and you have parts hosted in different offices and warehouses! For me, "where is it"? Is important, as well as the person I have to contact if I need parts shipped. So wh...

Re: EBAY US - What's this? Infinite Performance

@spiroyster Thank you for all the insight you have given on this topic - but in all honestly the technical details about graphics and what this compositor is capable of are slightly above my head, but I hope someone else was able to take it all in. **BUT** let me not give up so easily. Let me ask i...

Re: EBAY US - What's this? Infinite Performance

One needs a Onyx4 with ATI's graphics to use this? Not VPro or earlier Onyxs (I don't see any DVI output on the IR4 pics listed in the other thread)? I'm not aware of any Autodesk software working on the Onyx4/ATI platform... I was under the impression nothing really works on the Onyx4... Apologies...

386 required FPU co-processor (387 is one such example), 486 was a renascence in the realisation that this should have a been a God-given right.

Indeed they are cool... you can run them without heatsinks! [EDIT:] Actually I think you need a heatsink, but you definately don't need a fan.

Re: EBAY US - What's this? Infinite Performance

lets pretend someone bought this thing - what can one currently run/do with this thing? Any software that already exists or would someone have to code their own stuff to use this? I'm still confused... Both, manual says there is a utility that allows you to customise the output of all the graphics ...
