Re: A Guide on Your Options for non-x86 Computers (2017)

...Orwell were geniuses. meh, I disagree... Any mid 20th century science fiction writer who wrote about a future with such accurate political cynicism, false flag operations, propaganda implementation, social exclusion, totalitarian idolism and could speak about weston-super-mare so fondly, could e...

Re: A Guide on Your Options for non-x86 Computers (2017)

Yep x60 here since 2010 (and a spare). It's pretty much my daily driver for personal. Almost 10 years old, Win 8.1 Pro, SSD, smooth transitions, uber repsonsive, multiple ebay tabs, single youtube video.... no problem :). Love the keyboard, CPU bit weak/slow with a few things, but nothing that I req...

Re: Altrix 4700 Teardown Video

So this was scraped :( Shame, although understandable. o.0 At least they did a tear down vid so we could see the insides and this Altix won't be completely forgotten about. Poor thing. Since there aren't many of these about and the specs match-ish, I'm assuming that this was the Altix on ebay for th...

Re: SGI 320/540 Win2k drivers

Those files weren't on the CD's unfortunately. CD's only had NT351 drivers.

I'm pretty sure I have the PROM1_005.exe and sgi_ssk.exe in my archives somewhere. Will try and dig them out, the other two don't look familiar though :(.

Re: Was this PCI-X card used in SGI Flame/Smoke systems ?

Talk about stereotyping. As a proud 540/320 owner I take offence to being lumped in the same camp as Itanium! just cuz it got 'intel inside' don't make us all the same ya know. Well, I can't go into finite details on this.. but 'intel inside..' means intel inside..  I'm asto...

Re: Track ball mounted on keyboard (PS/2)

There might be better 'space saving' options like an IBM 6357 (space saver/traveller) which is essentially a laptop keyboard (thinkpad o.0) with PS/2 connections. Lenovo still sells these things brand-new and they are still highly regarded. Don't know if the newest model works with the cheap USB/PS...

Re: Track ball mounted on keyboard (PS/2)

I have one of those...somewhere. Came from a Compaq laptop (486). The one I had would clip into the base of a cradle which connected to the side of the laptop. It wasn't compatible with any other laptops I had at the time, and only seemed to work with the original compaq. I have no idea where it is ...
