Re: Fuel hardware aggregator edits ?

I've collected some relevant info into a new post here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=16732341

Please make it sticky - (I hope I can edit the subject to remove that phrase later).

Thanks.

Fuel Hack: ATX PSU Converter/Adapter

ATX Fuel PSU Converter board / adapter The adapters are usually available for $82 on eBay, Tindie and directly via forum (price for members is $75). There’s a long story behind those adapters, it started with a Fuel that I bought from Hamei, after shipping it from China to Japan the PSU died and I ...

Fuel hardware aggregator edits ?

Hi there, I'd like to update this page and maintain especially the section about power supply adapter (of my manufacture) and list of compatible ATX PSU's http://forums.nekochan.net/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=9046 Is there any way I could get an edit access to the post to streamline the process and not...

Re: Fuel fixer uppper

I do have it in my backlog to create a map of DS1780 chips to the signals they monitor (voltages AND fans), haven't had time for that yet - it will eventually happen :)

Re: Fuel fixer uppper

Stacking chips in a very cramped setting (especially between the PCI slots) is going to be harder than replacing the chip completely. I've soldered a couple of http://kubatyszko.com/2016/06/13/minimig-amiga-clone-hand-soldered/ Minimig Amiga clones (BY HAND) including stacked RAM with a CS (chip-sel...

Re: Fuel fixer uppper

There are 4 of those chips in total: Between PCI slots Below the ATX socket (can't remember the precise location) Somewhere near the Yellow ST chip On the PIMM module. And there's a fifth on the VPro graphics card. Thing is that all those are simply MONITORING issues, disabling env monitoring (env ...

Re: Fuel fixer uppper

I just noticed that you seem to be missing the 5V aux line - all of the "aux" should be showing up in standby. What is VERY strange, is that you have all of the 3.3V aux ones, and 5V aux PIMM. ATX only provides one 5V rail in standby, so if you see 5V in one place but not the other that's ...

Re: Fuel fixer uppper

Firstly, I'm always glad to see my adapters in the wild (I haven't seen this post before). It seems that you have the discounted adapter (that I sold around christmas) without any status lights nor kickstart button. The new (red) adapters that I sell currently have "standby power" and &quo...

Re: 1600SW + MLA - picture noise - SOLVED

Hah, no, I don't even think I still have the adapter. I certainly have no 1600SW's anymore.
All I did with my MLA back then was replacing the caps - and it wasn't easy, I used a very crappy soldering iron and it was hard to heat up the pads, especially the ground side ones.

Re: Fuel - on board network connector failed

Here are some pictures of the Ethernet jack and nearby area: IMG_1684.JPG IMG_1685.JPG (note the bodge wires leading from the ethernet jack to the interfacing chip. There are 2 components that could have failed in your case - the magnetics (transformer) in the jack itself: http://datasheet.octopart....

Nice, when are you going to print full O2 case ? It might help solve the crumbling plastic problem that many of us have ;)

Flashing PROM from L1/L2/L3/whatever - without IRIX ??

I finally got the L2 software working in a VM ( thanks to this thread http://forums.nekochan.net/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=16732130&start=15#p7402817 ), and it turns I seem to have been wrong about the ability to flash PROM in Fuel on a botched motherboard. A few years ago I bricked my motherboard...

Re: Fuel CPU Disabled

Nah, that's unlikely, I've successfully run Fuel on a very crappy 400W PSU (it wasn't stable, voltages all over the place but it did run).
