Re: Fuel PSU dead :(

I have yet to see an atx psu with those mounting holes for the hanger - must be custom SGI thing.

As for kvm switches - look around the forum, many of us had tried and there seem to be just a handful of kvm switches that work with SGI machines...

Re: Fuel PSU dead :(

I'm not familiar with this USB error, Fuel only supports HID devices (mouse and keyboard) and as long as you have PS/2 keyboard plugged it shouldn't complain (but please check for "console=g" setting in the PROM - you might need to change it to "console=d0" (but verify manual, th...

Re: Fuel PSU dead :(

A quick question, if one can use an ATX power supply, can we put the fuel motherboard + video in a regular pc case, has it been done? I personally think the fuel case sucks, compared what is available on https://www.mountainmods.com/ or something like that. Nope, the layout of motherboard, slot pla...

Re: [MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH!] Indigo² PSU Pinouts

Provided one gets all that to work in a form factor comparable to the stock PSU, it still leaves the connectors issue to be solved. I haven't yet found a part number or connector series that matches the IMPACT ribbon. Would you or somebody else be able to share close-up pictures of headers and conn...

Re: [MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH!] Indigo² PSU Pinouts

I wonder whether assembling a power supply from smaller modules wouldn't be better, thinking of sth like this: https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/delta-electronics/PMR-5V320WCAA/1145-1151-ND/5226421 https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/artesyn-embedded-technologies/LPS203-M/454-1475-ND/2...

Re: Modern monitor on SGI is possible?

necron2600, From what I've seen SGI Tezro has input for modern common monitors? DVI single link, yes. If you have a DCD equipped Tezro or a DCD equipped Octane you can use an IBM T221 to get a combined image out of them. Ask Hamei about T221 - he's been using one for years now. Hey! You can get one...

Re: [MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH!] Indigo² PSU Pinouts

It might be challenging to find 12V downconverter that can handle 46A, and even if you do - merging power from completely different rails (3v3 and 12v) will strongly depend on individual ATX PSU design and regulating capability. If you make it - I would avoid merging rails at all, and definitely mak...

Re: Indigo² PSU Pinouts

Nice!, btw many older AT PSU's supply -5V - and I don't think that voltage is widely used outside of EISA/ISA cards anyway, it might work just fine without it... The reason I designed my Fuel adapter was because my Fuel was broken and I was against the wall, the reason I have not designed any for In...

Re: Indigo² PSU Pinouts

If you're handy with a multimeter, here's some info that might get you going: Hard drive molex have 12V (usually yellow) , 5V (red) and Ground (black) - try continuity testing those with the power supply socket on the motherboard - with a bit of luck you might be able to identify the 12V,5V and Grou...
