Re: IRIX 6.5.15m and upgrading

That script doesn't really clone disks. It doesn't set up the disklabel on the target disk, you are required to do that yourself.
If you didn't partition the target disk before running the script nothing will work.

The SuperDrive was the 1.4MB floppy drive. 800KB was the model in the 512KE, the Plus, and the basic SE, as well as Mac IIs without the drive upgrade.

Re: IRIX 6.5.15m and upgrading

All IRIX disks are required to have multiple partitions. The partition numbered 8 is the disklabel and contains the boot loader program (sash). Without it, you cannot boot IRIX from the disk. The devices used should be SystemPartition=dksc(0,1,8) OSLoadPartition=dksc(0,1,0) OSLoader=sash OSLoadFilen...

Re: Lyon-Lamb IVAS installation problems

I think going back to Irix 5.3 is your best option. It is conceivably possible to convert a COFF binary to ELF, (there is a program called cof2elf), but it is not for the fainthearted (besides a different container format, there are memory layout changes and you basically have to disassemble and pat...

Re: Lyon-Lamb IVAS installation problems

I can see there was one previous post about this system, although the poster didn't actually have one: http://forums.nekochan.net/viewtopic.php?t=16727826 I wish I had more information about the IVAS, it looks very interesting. About your error message "Cannot open system": The script is t...

They did: The Indy had the Challenge Vault S, the Indigo2 had the Challenge Vault M, and the O200 had the Origin Vault.

ISO: Galileo DBOB

Does anyone have one of the digital breakout boxes for Galileo 1.0?
I've had a devil of a time finding one. In fact you can't even image search for a picture of one!

From information I have found, it has both serial (SDI) and parallel CCIR inputs and outputs.

Any info is graciously appreciated.

Re: What Apple hardware do we have?

Can one automate the boot of NetBSD on 68K Macs, i.e. make the BSD/mac68k Booter autostart after System 7 (?) has finished booting, so that the machine boots right into NetBSD without user intervention? System 7 and up has a Startup Items subfolder inside the System folder that gets autorun. You co...

Re: Ebay Rating ?

When sellers could leave negative feedback for buyers, it was possible for a 0-feedback buyer to get a negative feedback score. In principle it's still possible for a 0-feedback seller to get negative feedback and have their score go negative. More common is a requirement to have at least +10 feedba...

I suddenly remembered this thread just now. Last week I read a fascinating article about what is evidently the most complicated watch ever built. https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/the-vacheron-constantin-reference-57260 The funny thing is that for certain people, all of the 27 special features could...

The MIPS's ISA makes easier to introduce your own defined COP (COP0 is reserved as Exception, COP1 is reserved as FPU) than on other RISCs. This capability is used by the Tensilica cores to add reconfigurable logic to the ISA. Much more elegant than anything Altera or Xilinx has come out with in th...

I fortunately have never needed to take painkillers. I get a lot of scrapes and cuts, but the pain hasn't bothered me much.
How did you find the kratom? I guess it's used like coca leaf, hold it in your cheek with a pinch of lime?

The name Nikkō (日光) was already used by the company as an abbreviation of Nippon Kōgaku (日本光学), long before the introduction of the Nikon brand, and the new trademark was created by adding the suffix "-r", common for lens names. The Anytar 12cm f/4.5 lens was consequently renamed Nikkor i...
