Re: How do you explain....

Of course you don't have too.. it's you own business.. BUT.. When people come round your house and say.. 'wow .. what do you do with that stuff?' [Your' SGI gear] What do you say? I like to call it 'my dark side.' Well, the obvious reason is ``in case the furnace breaks''. Might not work if you're ...

Re: Galileo Indy Video

An ev1, very nice. BTW, is that a 68-pin disk inside your indy? You could do with some more flat-cable management :) And congratulations on the 200MHz R4400 CPU, you don't see those every day. :) To complete my cable management, I normally just put the cover back on. Of all my Indy's, this is my fa...

This arrived today, (along with a cpu) which I fitted, installed drivers and gets picked up fine and works fine so far. Just need to read up on what the ports do.

Code: Select all

Indy Video (ev1): unit 0, revision 0

Re: your latest purchase

This arrived today: IMG_5397.JPG A BrightEye2 Analog - SDi convertor. It was nice and cheap @ £30 odd. I never saw that it didn't come with a power supply, but no worries, I have loads and found the correct one. So I connected this to it (using composite out): IMG_5401.JPG And then from SD out : IMG...

Re: Irix 6.5 partition recovery, please help

I suppose it what you have available. As devv says check the partions, and if still in tack have a look at Ian Maplesons guide on cloning disks, part of it is cloning the header partion, you would need another IRIX disk though. If you have installs CDs then you may have better luck. If you don't cre...

Re: Irix 6.5 partition recovery, please help

ouch! I bet you regret that now.
I suspect you are going to need IRIX install media or another IRIX disk to copy the headers from if you are lucky. After all, who knows what windows did to it.

Re: IBM AS/400 OS/400 questions

I had an As/400 (also System/32) and I did an on-line rpg course on it. If the truth be known though, apart from the challenge of learning it all and setting up the networking etc, it was pretty un-interesting. Saying that, since it was a licenced box, I was rather scared of doing anything drastic w...

Re: SGI Fuel Review and Buyers Guide

Nice one chap. Got to say though my FUELS have been very reliable (Including the flaps, although I know one day I will come home and my children will have ripped them off somehow).. luck of the draw? oh and did I hear right, I'm sure the lower PCi slots are 66MHZ?
