Re: your latest purchase

An HP Microserver Gen 8 with Xeon CPU and 16GB RAM. It's going to be my off-site backup server. Automated ZFS replication instead of lugging external disk boxes around :) I chose this one (2nd hand, 6 months old) because the brand-new Gen 10 model only comes with some AMD SOC which is way less powe...

Re: Things to buy....

Hey Vishnu, did you have any joy? I didn't have my old IRIX ...

Discreet image import.

I'm having a problem converting MP4 movie files into something that discreet smoke/flame will recognize. Using import image the files are visible, but all my conversions are not recognized. When Discreet talk about importing images, they mean both single frame type pictures and movie files. The supp...

Re: Using a 1600SW on an Octane?

I’m trying to figure this one out too. I think one of the video cards can output dvi And that would get you to the multilink. But as far as 13w3 to dve I think it would require a special cable. He complained that files where going missing, so peace of mind I swapped it out for a Windows Server based environment. Files still went missing and a year later he c...
