Re: A Guide on Your Options for non-x86 Computers (2017)

I'm not picking on you, Alex, but I think if price is the only benchmark we're going to be putting all our eggs in one x86 basket when it comes to high-performance systems. What happens when the next critical CPU flaw is found and there aren't any alternatives? I get it that folks are on a budget; ...

Talos is absolutely a no go with such high price. For that amount of money I can build a Xeon monster

Any updates for 2018?
Need something fast to use Linux From Scratch on it.
And also with 3D acceleration that at least suits Tux Racer requirements :D

Of all themes only MaXX-Classic is close enough to IRIX one, but it has no gtk3 support :(

Re: Rich IRIX package selection?

Thanks! I didn't open the 6.5.0 Applications, only 6.5.30 Applications because of the note "IRIX 6.5 Applications (use only if a newer Applications CD was not included in the intermediate release package)" in "IRIX 6.5 Installation Instructions". Maybe this is the culprit? Okay, ...

Rich IRIX package selection?

Once I've set IRIX 6.5.0 on Indy and many useful things were installed, like demos and some apps. Now I've installed IRIX 6.5.30 on O2, but no demos and overall software selection seems stripped down :( The commands as per "IRIX 6.5 Installation Instructions" guide were "keep * instal...

Forgot to add a sorry line for hijacking your sell thread. I just can't resist the hate for CRT monitors to be used with workstations :) Damn space eaters.

Only understand the monochrome terminal lovers, these tubes are just great.

Re: For Sale: SGI INDY maximized

This mammoth crap is usually free but shipment at own expense. Plus the LCDs I've dealt with all supported sync on green (e...

There is probably no professional software, but there is enough misc stuff like Doom II for NextStep SPARC/HPPA spreaded over the net.

1) What exact location in Italy?
2) What is estimated reward? Its hard to make an offer not knowing seller expectation.
