Re: What HP/DEC/Compaq do we have.

All I've got in the way of HP/Compaq is some generic x86 stuff... HP Vectra VL400 (866MHz Pentium 3, 256MB RAM, 40GB hard drive, Windows Server 2003) HP NetServer LC2000 (600MHz Pentium 3, 512MB RAM, 6x9GB SCSI LVD hard drives in a RAID5 array for 45GB, Windows Server 2003) A generic Compaq I forget...

Re: How much will a fully working Indy go for?

$100 is a bit steep... If it was the only Indy someone would offer, I guess I'd work on saving my money to buy one at that price.

Re: How much will a fully working Indy go for?

In Auburn. I mainly want an Indy because I have limited living space. From the measurements I can find, the Indy is fairly small so I can find a place to put it.

Re: Resurrecting an old IBM PC

http://www.kids-online.net/learn/click/details/isaslots.jpg - This is an ISA slot and you can use any ISA card; it doesn't have to be IBM branded. For example, I have an SMC network card and a Western Digital MFM controller in my 8086 PS/2 Model 25 and it hasn't complained yet. http://upload.wikimed...

I believe so and it's pretty hard to find. Your best bet would be to use the "plug and pray" method until you see something change.

Re: What IBM hardware do we have..?

I don't have any fancy server or mainframe IBM stuff, but I do own a PS/2 Model 25 (8086) and a ThinkPad T21.

Re: How much will a fully working Indy go for?

You live close to a college? That's one of the best places to find old SGI gear! Try asking around the chemistry department or see if they have a place for surplus equipment, sometimes called a "technology graveyard." Next stop after sending this scrap aluminum to the recyclers: Finding p...

Re: How much will a fully working Indy go for?

Keep your eyes on craigslist, too, especially for SGI gear close to you. Every now and then, you'll find someone willing to give one away, particularly if you can come to pick up the machine, rather than have it shipped to you.. Heh, not where I live. I'd be lucky if I could find someone who knows ...

Re: Hi, I'm a noob and all I've got is an iMac G3

I have 8 Indys... I might be able to spare one... Just where are you located...? Over here in the USA. Shipping to USA from Austrailia would get a bit expensive. Another rule, do not ask for pirate software or "warez". Otherwise just play nice.. its been ages since the moderators have loc...

Hi, I'm a noob and all I've got is an iMac G3

Though I have been eying an SGI machine recently (as in, since five minutes ago :P).
Other than the one in red about politics and the "Use common sense" rules, are there any other rules I should know? Didn't find anything about forum rules using the Search.
