Re: Tight VNC refuses connections after starting an applicat

Thanks! I am going to try Jollys fast VNC!
Surely the communication between the server and the viewer software is erratic.
Breaking of the connection has not much to do with running applications on the host.

Re: Tight VNC refuses connections after starting an applicat

O.K., the description of the problem may be fuzzy. The main point is that the server kicks out the client soon after logging in. Can it be a problem if the client software (Chicken VNC) is brand new, but the server software is somewhat older (Neko Tight VNC). Anybody has good suggestions for an xsta...

Tight VNC refuses connections after starting an application

Hello, I installed Neko Tight VNC on my Octane (IRIX 6.5.30) I set up the password, and the ./vnc/xstartup file as suggested in forum posts, and then started the VNC server. Using the Chicken VNC viewer (OSX PPC Mac) I can connect to the Octane, everything looks fine, the IRIX desktop appears on the...

Re: Indigo2 R10k: What to do after replacing the Dallas chip

Hi, Thanks for the reply! I did the dremeling once with a chip of a SUN Ultra1, this time I hoped for a cleaner solution, anyway soldering a new battery to the original chip will be the solution if nothing else works. I will check the details of the new Dallas chip, I googled a few months ago, that ...

Indigo2 R10k: What to do after replacing the Dallas chip?

Dear Nekochan members, I replaced the expired Dallas chip in my IMAPCT Indigo2 R10000 machine. When turning it on again the machine gave the welcome chime and showed this: "Initialized tod clock. Initialized tod clock. Can't set tod clock. Initialized tod clock. Initialized tod clock. Can't set...

Re: Old SGI sw - any interest?

Hello,

I would be interested in getting some CDs if any left.

Do you have any list now?

Actually it is also fine if you could send me just a box of CDs (20pcs?), then I could check.
Some software in it must be fun/useful anyway ;-)

Thanks,

Zsolt

Does the startup chime work if there's no Dallas chip in the motherboard?

50 pin SCSI iomega Jaz drive & IRIX

Hello Friends, I just wonder if a 50 pin SCSI iomega Jaz drive could be used under IRIX. Do you know if any IRIX driver exists for this drive? I just happened to get one, and both the SCSI connection type and the form factor tempt me to put it into an Indy. It would fit perfectly into the position o...
