Re: [Ebay] Octane drive sleds. $30 7 available.

One drive sled to rule them all......

Though it is turning out that indigo2 drive sleds may be even more rare.

[Ebay] Octane drive sleds. $30 7 available.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/SGI-Octane-2-Hard-Drive-Sled-Caddy-Silicon-Graphics/142654011045?hash=item2136d776a5:g:yV8AAOSwEUdaWQqg I'd order a few but.... I have two Octane drives with sleds on the way so I'll have the max my Octane needs. Plus I have a full bay of sleds in the Origin 200. Though they...

Re: Octane arrived. Advice on small problem.

I've done it and it works. You can also do the same with another device : Dr Bott SGI Saver. You can sometimes find them cheap on ebay. I've never seen one of these for sale. I mean, amazon seems to have them but they are more expensive than the multi link adapter... also it shows a picture of some...

Re: Octane arrived. Advice on small problem.

I have an HP EliteDisplay E241i for my Mac Pro, it simply will not display the image from the Octane properly. Colour is washed out and the image sits halfway across the panel. I recently bought a Dell 2407wfp which works perfectly with the Octane. There are quite a few of the older panels that wil...

Re: Octane arrived. Advice on small problem.

Well. ATM it only has the basic si card. I was under the impression that the mxe with Tram modules will help with gl texture displays. I’d mainly run it at 1600 res for the sw1600 But Ian said the little mlink adapters aren’t that great. I just bought an hp that is great for my daily 3d work. Super ...

Re: Octane arrived. Advice on small problem.

I’ve fired up the Octane. It’s run of the mill at the moment, but am getting parts at the moment. I’ll either win the bid on a dual 400mhz or get one Ian offered me. Whichever price gives way first. I’m looking at mxe with tram modules as well for good prices. Since I’m told I can desktop capture on...

Re: [EBay] Indigo 2 4400 250Mhz. Washington State. Not Mine.

Yeah, I felt it was a bit high. Though I must say, sleds for indigo2 seem the rarest item now days. I bought another o2 on ebay because it was $75. Its an r5k so it won't be something I spend a lot of time with but... the case was in such pristine condition that I felt $75 was worth the shell/ram/dr...

Re: DOSBox performance

Oh, I'll have to fire this up. Love me some old school Sierra games like Space Quest and King's Quest. Lucasfilm Games. Etc. The 300 Mhz o2 does have a few Scumm games on it already though. Pretty fun.

Re: SoftImage 3D 4.0 works better in windows than irix ?

Yes, when it went from 2010 to 2011 the QT slowed down marking menus and the overall UI interactivity. I was pretty upset about it at first. BUT the way you could kit bash QT ui elements quickly made me forget about it. Over time it has become responsive again although I also miss the generic grey v...

Intuition, The only software I see currently do a good job Cinema 4d, Carrara 8.5 and DaZ Studio, the Maya and 3DS Max their most stable and best versions were from 1997 up to 2009, from 2010 onwards became undervalued, if ask any user will hear the same thing or even You'll already know this,. Re: Selling SGI Collection

I'm down in Los Angeles.

Is there any 3D animation software installed on any of them?

I'm always looking for old Irix installs that had 3d animation packages on them. Maya, Softimage, Power Animator, Lightwave, etc.
