Re: Indigo, R3K 33 Mhz, 80Mb ram, LG1 graphics

Congratulations twix! I'm sure you'll have some fun with that. I knew a great guy who gave me my first SGI and it was such a wonderful thing! :-) I originally had the R4K with Entry graphics and the extra capture hardware but I could never find any programs that would support it or otherwise get it ...

Re: Audacity and Pango

Hi, I've just been installing audacity (and pidgin) on a fresh 6.5.22f IRIX running on O2 R5k. I have arranged my nekoware such that I untarred all the .tardist files into nekoware/current/dist and then loaded that distribution in swmgr. I unmarked all and then selected a few things including audact...

Re: Soldering stations (pencil/hot air/both?)

Hi, I'm looking at replacing my current soldering equipment, which was marginal to begin with and not very useful now (lead-free solder). I'm pretty sure I want temperature control. I have one of these for a little light stuff at home: http://uk.farnell.com/duratool/d00671/soldering-rework-station-u...

I'm not claiming to be a wizard, but what do you want to know?

Re: rld dynamic loader with $ORIGIN in RPATH

Hi,

tingo wrote:Don't you need to quote the contents if there is spaces in it?
Like this:

Code: Select all

$ ORIGIN="./ ./rev-app"

Code: Select all

./
is the variable value and

Code: Select all

./rev-app
is the command line so there were no spaces intended.

Thanks for the suggestions tho'! :-)

Re: Crimson RealityEngine R4400/150MHz 256MB RAM

Hi, Not really, but there's another way: if you engage that breaker switch and you hear a fan humming inside before you flip the on/off switch on the front you have a PowerOne PSU. If not, you have a Cherokee PSU. Since this is a 'late' Crimson (original configuration R4400 + RE) my guess is it has ...

Re: rld dynamic loader with $ORIGIN in RPATH

Hi, So "$ORIGIN" was appearing at 935. What happens if you manually set ORIGIN prior to running ldd? I have tried setting $ORIGIN thus: $ ORIGIN=./ ./rev-app 31413:./rev-app: rld: Fatal Error: Cannot Successfully map soname 'libchicken.so.6' under any of the filenames $ORIGIN/libchicken.so...

Re: rld dynamic loader with $ORIGIN in RPATH

Hi, How are you defining RPATH? With -rpath to the linker (cc). Are you escaping "$" correctly. I *think* so. I tried putting it in single quotes thusly to be sure: -rpath '$ORIGIN' What do the string tables look like with elfdump? 29% elfdump -c rev-app rev-app: **** STRING TABLE INFORMAT...

rld dynamic loader with $ORIGIN in RPATH

Hi, I've built some binaries with MIPSPro that have "$ORIGIN" in their RPATH. I can't find many resources on this but apparently the IRIX loader supports this: http://www.scons.org/wiki/UsingOrigin#The_Solution I've put my binary and .so library in the same directory: $ ls libchicken.so.6 ...

I hoped that this would be the case but I just wondered how the lack of 404/3xx would affect it.

The option is -KPIC and it's on by default.
