I wonder if SGI is just sitting on this stuff hoping someone will call them up with an offer to buy it. There's a lot of IP tied up in their MIPS systems and Irix. For the right price they'd sell it, especially in the financial slump they are in. Possibly the only thing to gain by keeping it all to ...

Hp seemed to make a lot of different drives that were the exact same thing.

I flashed a Jetstore 6000 with a new firmware and it became a c1533a.

Also had a c1528f that also became a c1533a with a latest flash.

I put a 10k IBM 36GB drive in mine with no issues. I mounted it in the floppy bay and put a case fan underneath it. I also mounted some small chipset fans on both the r5000 and the newport card.

there's no future. mips/irix roadmap officially ends 2006. hmmm... will it mean Irix becoming opensource or freeware like Solaris? Highly unlikely, Sun actually bought out their Unix license several years ago, so they were basically able to do what they want with the code (well that and a nice kick...

Sgi could pull an Apple I guess.

I was hired at one job because I *wasn't* an MCSE. He said all the MCSE could do is quote manuals but throw real troubleshooting at them and they would freeze. He would end interviews with people like them by asking "What is the purpose of the purple wires on an ATX power supply?" He said one guy ju...

I guess the graphical people would use SGI at work and Mac at home, but I certainly couldn't see Unixy people using SGI at work and a Mac at home (at least in pre-osx days)

I'm using an IBM 36GB 10K drive in my indy. It has the 68 pin connector with a adaptor to 50. Other than the drive at idle is about the temperature of the core of the sun, it works fine. Do the PSU fan mod. I have XZ gfx, and with the PSU fan mod, my Indy is COOL on the inside and the XZ boards are...

In the menu there are 2 types of setups, use (Your) ISP or MsnTV ISP.

Sorry, I was making more of a suggestion than a question.
