Re: Restore your yellowed plastics?

Impressive stuff! I've read through a lot of pages yesterday evening, and man, this is the greatest discovery....well....almost EVER! :) I was almost ready to dump my somewhat-yellowed IBM 43P-140, but hell, i guess i'll give it a shot. Or clean up my original Indigo CDROM drive...or my brothers C64...

Re: Plane crashed near Amsterdam are you guys from NL ok ?

A few years ago a plane overshot the runway in Canada. Gave me the shivers, as no identity was revealed for a few hours, and according to the schedules, my girlfriend's (stewardess) plane was supposed to land at that very moment. Turned out they were lined up behind the very plane that crashed and w...

Maybe not a really good example, but take a look at this:

Re: Spread Irix 5.3 install over mutiple disks?

Okay, i popped the hood yesterday evening, and the system contains 2 1GB drives...sufficient for 5.3 i'd say :) You were right...exercise/label, and ready to go! Well, almost...i forgot to repartition as a rootdisk the first time, and it complained that there wasn't enough space to complete it's sta...

Spread Irix 5.3 install over mutiple disks?

I'm trying to install Irix 5.3 on a teal I2 with two disks. Even the 'install required' option comes up with a message that it won't fit (on one disk, must be damn small then :) ). I haven't tried repartitioning the disk (maybe the current layout is all wrong...don't know, it was getting late), and ...

Re: crybaby O2

Perhaps it's temperature-related? CPU or GFX overheating? I guess because it crashes this way no weirdness is to be found in the logs, right? :?

Re: Tierra on IRIX, anyone?

Just a quick update. Tierra compiles now with said tweaks :) No X-window sugarcoating yet, so time to look at the Alcomm/Overview source. Tierra's alcomm 'option' depends on alcomm compilation of mlayer.h (among others), but compilation grinds to a halt because apparently the option 'ranlib' (in alc...

Re: Tierra on IRIX, anyone?

Well, I re-read Tierra's README now more closely and discovered that <beagle> is a DOS only tool - so, no wonder I couldn't get it to compile properly earlier... Hehehe, i noticed that too :) Thanks for the digging, i'll use your recommendations and see if it works. Reading Tierra's Makefile...

Re: Tierra on IRIX, anyone?

That would be great, Oskar :)

Could you perhaps try if it compiles for an R3k Indigo? (MIPS1 architecture, right?)
I want to give the old R3k something to work on (that's why i tried the IDO 5.3 compile).

If it works i'd be interested to know how you accomplished that...

Re: Tierra on IRIX, anyone?

Well, as they say, time flies... After all this time i finally dug up Tierra again, the last time i tried compiling it with MIPSPro 7.2.1 i failed. Attempt no. 2: guessing it might have something to do with the program's age, i decided to install the 5.3 IDO on my trusty 5.3 Indigo this night...gues...

Re: Free: Indigo R4k Systems (UK)

I love my Indigo! It's the 'little machine that could...' :)
Beautiful design, rugged, modular...it still amazes me how quick it feels with just 32MB mem and a 33MHz CPU.

Mine's also with big-ass beige monitor and an external caddy CDROM unit BTW ;)
