SunFire v210 rail screws

I just picked up a second-hand v210 rail kit via ebay, but it doesn't have screws for attaching the slide rails to the case. I went through my collection of miscellaneous screws but couldn't find one that fits. Does anyone know the specs for these screws? I'd really hate to haul the whole v210 down ...

Is 1A enough? The rated output on the OEMs is 3.3A.

Re: Water cool for sgi? Possible?

Corsair has a fairly cheap sealed-unit water cooling system. It's big enough to cool a 130W i7 920, and if you replace the OEM fan with
a $20 Scythe version it's pretty quiet too. Probably cheaper just to replace the PS and drive bay fans with the Scythe equivalents and skip
the water cooler ;)

Re: Got a pair of Sunfire V210 machines. Can't pull a displ

It's pretty easy to make a serial cable for connecting to the console. Just cut the end off an old ethernet cable and solder on the appropriate DB connector (DB-9 for a PC, DB-25 if you happen to have another Sun). Once you're into the serial console, you can set up the video card as output. A coupl...

WTB V210/V240 rail kit

Looking for a V210/V240 rail kit. Don't care if it includes the cable management arm or not.

The bare rails are Sun P/N 370-7669, the P/N for the whole enchilada* is 371-0066.

I'd even be happy with generic rails which would fit the V210 with a little finessing.

Re: V210 hardware question

My curiosity overcame my fear of breaking it. I used a pair of pliers on the green knob-looking thing and it came up with a little pressure.

V210 hardware question

Okay: Really stupid hardware question. I'm trying to remove the PCI card from a V210 I just bought, and I can't figure out how to release the internal PCI lockdown. The little green fixture has a round piece that seems important, but I don't want to break the thing and then find out that I can't rem...

Re: SCSI vs FC in an octane

FC to SATA boxes are rather useful, and fairly cheap, too. (Link here , btw, for those of you keeping score at home.) That's the exact one I was thinking of ! The worrisome part is the note that "not all sata disks will work" tho. Know anything about that ? Got in a discussion about those...

Re: TP9300S disk compatibility

I've been trolling eBay for FC shelves in general. I was taking the seller's notes about disk compatibility with a grain of salt based on the collected lore of using NetApp shelves with generic disks: The NetApp filers want their own firmware (down to specific brands/sizes/model numbers), but if you...

TP9300S disk compatibility

Does anyone have any experience with using consumer/prosumer grade SATA disks with the TP9300S?
My goal is just to use an expansion enclosure as a cheap SATA to FC converter.

It looks cooler than the NetApp DS14MK2, and unlike the NetApp shelf, it's possible to buy the SATA trays without
drives.
