Well it seems the harddrives they use are shorting out the logic boards, i had oth replaced in my mini :roll:

Doesn't matter as I just got a call that my mini is ready to pick up.

Seems the HDD was causing the "logicboard" to short out killing both of them so needed both to be replaced... ho hum busy weekend for me :roll:

ah well shit happens, at least it was while it was still under warrenty. Cost about £300 otherwise which is about the same I paid for it!

Been playing with some nice Apple gear at the Apple store today while my mini was being looked at and i was supprised how good the 12" powerbooks and ibooks displays are so you can't go far wrong with one. Me I like huge great monitor so my mini is running off a 21" crt :D

Well if anyone its to blame its IBM for not delivering the G5 apple wanted, a cooler less power hungry one for laptops. When I used to do irix installs I would install the dev stuff before any overlays as the dev discs will have software that has to be installed... but irix won't install it as it older than the versions that the overlays installed, but you can;t install the dev discs witho...

Thing is that apple might still use PPC but the processors would be produced by intel since PPC is an open arch. But I don't think that would be the case and intel make enought types of processor as it is and won't make one type just for apple.
