Re: Archaeological dig: old Indys from Acclaim Entertainment unearthed

So I just learned, that the company Night Dive Studios recently remake of Turok, which seems to be fairly accurate to the original, with GFX (OpenGL 2.0), sound and music. So they either have the source code, or really did a good job in re-engineering.

Re: O2 upgrade

Hello there, Sorry for my stupid question but there it is: I have an O2 R5000 and I think to upgrade it to R10000. I know that the heat sink is taller and I wonder if I need a new PCI riser to accommodate the hew height? Also is there a limitation from power supply? Thanks. http://forums.nekochan.n...

It is a disease - this is so bloated. The browser as an OS.

Yeay - lets heat the atmosphere with Ryzen and Core i7.

Re: Octane ESI / R12000 300Mhz / 512MB / CAD-Duo

There are lots of guides of successful fan mods. I can recommend them for lower end machines like R5K O2s. But in Octane you need much dynamic pressure from this very single fan, because it is responsible for cooling the PSU, the mainbaord and (together with the HDD compartment fan) the XIO slots al...

A pristine machine.

She needs 2 upgrades though: 1 TRAM Mezzanine for SE and additional 512mb RAM ;-)

Re: DALiM LiTHO

Interesting! The company still exists. https://www.dalim.com/ One could ask them per mail if they still have any copyright claim on or if it can be considered as freeware. But I think nobody is working there 15 years later and the current staff has no idea about it. Oh I see: "Twist" is st...

Re: GL_VERSION: 1.1.1 SGI

Assuming 20fps, you have an improvement of 1200x in performance vs. 1fpm. Interesting, I would really expect more, even if the single threaded. If I configure 16bpp then the renderer says "Generic/MMX", with 32bpp only "Generic". Although there is no performance gain with MMX. T...

Re: GL_VERSION: 1.1.1 SGI

NT4 has a Microsoft software renderer, too - this only semms to work with these screensaver 3DMaze etc. Are you sure about that? I remember reading years ago that OpenGL support under NT 4 was excellent. It was the fastest machine to run Quake 3, because of the good OpenGL performance and SMP. Oh w...
